Quieter Cab

If you work on a busy jobsite, you know that noise exposure around you can be a daily frustration. Quiet equipment will make you happier at the end of the day. Bobcat® compact (mini) excavators maintain best-in-class performance, while keeping noise levels down. However, not every manufacturer maintains the same standards. Watch the unofficial sound test to see for yourself.

Quieter Cab Overview

Cab sound levels on excavators can vary greatly. When it comes to your jobsite comfort, you need to consider the differences. We tested the top brands to see how sound levels compared. Which brand compact (mini) excavator has the most capable efficient controls? Watch the test results to find out.

Cab sound comparison of Bobcat vs Kubota® compact (mini) excavators.

Bobcat vs. Other Brands

Each brand of compact excavator was tested with a calibrated sound level reader. Holding the reader at the same position in the cab, each excavator was cycled through various engine RPMs. Unofficial results showed Bobcat with a maximum of 73dB. Kubota® had significantly higher sound levels at 85dB.

How We Test Equipment

Bobcat Advantage behind the scenes testing equipment video.

When you’re shopping for a new machine, it’s easy to compare specs. After all, that’s the best way to compare machines, right? Not quite. With specs, you’re only getting part of the story. They don’t measure real performance on your jobsite and that’s what matters most. It’s the reason we put top brands through the paces with fair, accurate, and repeatable tests. Watch to see how we developed the tests.
